Lawrence Wood is a retired Eye Surgeon, Navy veteran, published author and playwright. He completed the AT&T Media Fellowship Program and Writers Guild Foundation Writers Program for Veterans. He has written several feature/pilot spec scripts in multiple genres. As an inspiring director, he wrote and directed a commercial which achieved Emmy Contender status via the Television Academy and is the writer/director of a full-length play performed in Okinawa Japan.
Lawrence’s service with the Public Health Service was followed by twenty-six years in the Navy. He was deployed to Beirut and was the only physician on site to coordinate medical care after the bombing of the Marine barracks. He retired at the rank of Captain and was awarded the Legion of Merit, the seventh highest military award.
Lawrence enjoys traveling with his wife and spending time with their four sons and five grandchildren. He is an avid Yankee fan and eagerly awaits their 28th World Series title.
